Just got off the phone with Harrison with an amazing update.
He said they have COMPLETELY taken her off the respirator and she is breathing by herself 24 breaths/minute.
They took out the venus monitor that went down her throat and directly into her heart to measure the pressure. Her heart rate is about 100bpm with great pressure.
They took the stitches out of her left ear and it looks great. He said it looks like she had some sort of piercing, but it's not freaky like his post about the accident might imply. He said her color is returning and the swelling in her face has gone. She is starting to have her body back for herself. I am sure she is happy about that.
The doctors say if she continues on this path, she is on a quick recovery route. If she continues to improve then she might be able to take a commercial flight to Stanford. That being said, with brain injuries, it is always a mystery how long and how people recover.
He also wanted to clarify:
The Times of India article denoted that the family was not satisfied with the hospital care in India. This applied to previous hospitals. APOLLO HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL and they are going to try to convey that tomorrow when they have another interview with another newspaper.
Keep her in your thoughts. Go to a benefit. Donate something to the silent auctions. Take a yoga class at Mission Yoga or The Caretaker's. We're bringin' Hollis Back. YOU are helping.
About that.
WHO WANTS TO KNOW THE NEWEST TOTAL??????!!!
(ooh! me! Mee too! Over here, I want to know!)
$41,150
Our goal is $200,000
->A special thank you to the millionth power to all 836 people who hooked a sister up<-
Let's just put this into perspective:
Yesterday, when I began accounting the day's total, it was $17, 500. The day before that we were at $4,500. I am now going to sleep knowing that the money more than doubles each day because of how many people are letting their friends know about the situation. This is a true testimonial to the power of the interweb and the new age of information.

A funny thing happenend:
I got a text message from Robin Lehto, a Sprockette who has moved to New York. She was at Trader Joe's, perusing the recent perishables when she ran into some other people on a mission to get food for a benefit for Hollis. They managed to inspire her to put together some visuals for the party. She texted me to fill me with the joys of coincidence.
The collective throwing the benefit is called The House Of Yes!
Here is what she says:
"Friends and family of Hollis in the bay: we are on this in new York. Please send me footage of the derailleurs or Hollis or any other video message you'd like viewed at brooklyns benefit on Saturday to robinlehto (AT) gmail (dot) com. Tell stories of love and prayer into your webcam and email them to me. I will project them at our gathering. Let's shrink this world and get Hollis home."

Non-profit Organization:
I just heard from NIMBY organizer, Snook, that paypal can freeze an account if they think it is fishy. Since this is a time sensitive matter, that would be terrible.
I want to nip that in the bud and get a non-profit to Umbrella our cause.
That way, when people donate, they can have the option of "tax-deductible."
Send me an email with "non-profit umbrella" in the subject line if you are willing to shadow our needs.

Someone Who Visited Hollis Says:
Dear Swamiji
Went to the hospital. The doctor who is attending Holly is a very good friend of mine. Spoke to him and he gave me the complete history.
AS things stand she is in COMA and he expects that it might take months for her to come back to normalcy. as of today the ventilators have been removed. he also mentioned about the plans to take her to U.S. He confirmed that the travel should not be a problem.
Met with Ms. Joy wills, Holly's mom's sister and briefed her of the situation. Assured all possible help and gave her my contact details. Told her about your sincere concern for HOLLY.
In my opinion Holly is getting the right treatment given the circumstances.
Will do my best.
RE: Air Ambulance Quotes
Thank you to all who have given us quotes or leads.
We have so many to deal with that we need to work with what is on our plate right now.
The way it works usually is that the quotes from these services are not actually from the flights but a brokerage and then we cannot get another quote after the first one.
So we can HALT on the air ambulance help.
Thank you again!
We are getting a donation every three minutes.
Can you believe that?
That's incredible!
There is a link to the story on Fecal Face, on the SFBG.com, Laughing Squid, Bay Area Riders Forum, etc., etc.
This is what is helping us.
And because I know you are curious:

The end of a long day...
With a happy ending.
It looks as though the remote healing operations coincided with the breathing on her own. I could be wrong. I don't know exact times.
I have been using Hollis' computer to answer more emails in one day than all of 2006 combined.
Thanks for leaving your stuff in my room, Hollis.
So far, we have raised.......
$26,344
Our goal is $200,000
That means we are over 1/8th of the way there and we haven't even had a show or combined forces with Holli's family yet. This is YOU People. Thank to the millionth power.
I am petitioning paypal to give me a break on the rates because of the time sensitivity of the money. Or maybe they could donate it right back to the fund. I am sure there is a supervisor who could be hip to the pledge drive.
Sweet Dreams,
Eliza

Amazing news.
They took her off the machine that was breathing for her and now it's just unpressured oxygen into her trach & besides that she is breathing on her own!

Photos of Hollis
We have a journalist in Pundicherry who is writing an article on Hollis and her situation.
He writes for the largest newspaper in India, The Times of India, and is helping us reach far and wide.
He needs high resolution non-copyrighted photos of her with a min. of 400kb.
I don't seem to have any.
We need these ASAP.
Email me elizastrack (at) gmail (dot) com

Who say's dancin don't help?
Oh, so I'm a bad singer, huh? *shakes a fist at dear eliza* Hello troops! Alexi here. I just want to reiterate that Saturday's shin-dig for Hollis was soopa righteous, and every morsel of food, note, lit candle, and dollar is helped. I felt the rain down in Africa, for sure. Also, all those regionals and other local leaders from the Burin dude leadership summit made me cry-with-graditude. They raised $495 dollars (thats about $5 each) and most of these lovely, beautiful people don't even know her but are touched by those of us that do. So please, please send her story on to people who might also be touched to help.Love and Hollis,
Alexi
The photo above is of the money that was collected in my lil hat at the regional conference. BIG UP!!
New Tally on the FUNdraiser-ometer
News is in from Portland with the Sprockettes organizing a FUNdraiser with the band Japanther.
New York is getting something together.
If you want to organize a Bay Area Fundraiser, send me and email with "fundraiser committee" on the subject. elizastrack (AT) gmail(dot) com.
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH WE HAVE RAISED?????
Hold your breath:
drum roll >>>>>>>>>>>
$20,000!!!!
We are one tenth of the way there!
Thank you to all 355 people who have donated since I checked my email. I am most certain the number will be bigger as soon as I can finish this post.
I responded to the first hundred donations, but I am not able to personally thank each of you.
SO, A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU 355 people!!!!!
(insert standing ovation here.)
According to Harrison's mother, the most Golden Hearted Lady who got Hollis accepted into Stanford's arms, the best thing would be to get her to Stanford so they can work their state-of-the-art magic on her and her extreme condition. So as soon as we can get the money together, she is coming home to us.
We just set up a joint checking account to filter the money into so if we reach our goal, she is on that airplane with little red tape.
I also don't want to forget all the people who are doing remote healing on our lovely lady.
Thank you for organizing that, and hopefully we can see some changes.
I heard Alberto Villoldo speak at a conference and I wanted to share his insight.
He had just completed a doctorate, and he was one of the first Americans to spend much time with the Inca in their homeland. He was talking about the chaos theory and how cool it was. He said, "You know, a butterfly flaps his wings here and a tsunami happens around the world." The Incan shaman thought that was very insightful, and then added, "Show me how this works." Uhhh, Dr. Villoldo had no idea how to do this, because it was a theory. According to the Inca, time is not before, after, the day after, or tomorrow. Time is happening all at once. The Incan shaman said, "I can show you that theory. I can heal someone on the other side of the earth."
I feel this is very poigniant because I am getting an email a minute, many people who have never met Hollis, but want to do something. They have been filled with the spirit of charity for someone who obviously inspired us all to DO IT BETTER. This is worth the world's weight in gold.

Teams for Better Organization
HELLO EVERYONE!!
We are currently experiencing a waterfall of information, requests, and suggestions.
Thank you for all the action that is taking place out there, around the world.
1. Medical Queries:
Hollis is now at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, near an airstrip.
She was transferred because JIPMER was not providing the best of the best. This hospital was suggested by a contact that is living in Chennai and has been helping on the ground.
The urgency to move Hollis to Stanford is rooted in the belief that she will be getting world class care. Some of you have expressed concern about her moving in her condition now, and that there are world class hospitals in India. She is staying at Apollo until further notice, seeing as moving her again is a questionable activity. The family is waiting for her to further stabilize before she moves again.
Her cousin, Jill has set up another blogspot with her medical status more clearly defined than the information I have been able to get.
http://helpholligethome.blogspot.com/
2. Air Ambulance Help:
We have had many people out there give some great suggestions.
Jill is the Air Ambulance contact. She has been entertaining all of the suggestions people have found. If you would like to send her valid information on flights and aid for the flights, she has asked me to forward those emails to her. again my email is elizastrack (AT) gmail (DOT) com.
In the subject line, please write "medical queries/help" or "air ambulance help" so I can weed the emails out.
-We have received a few nurse volunteers, pending clearance. The rules surrounding Air Ambulances is that the doctors have to be trained in the pressurized environments. They need to already be air ambulance doctors. There is usually two doctors and two pilots on these flights. If it is possible to volunteer for this service, then we would love the volunteers. We are in a holding pattern with that.
-A few suggestions out there have been: Military medical flights. Canadian medical flights. Chloe's father does flights usually to Africa but might be able to make an exception. Shannon Palermo has a friend in NY who has a friend who does those flight regularly to India. A nurse from Seattle said she does those flights with another company but would volunteer if she could.
I know there have been more, but this is what I can remember off the top of my head.
I am receiving two emails a minute now and it is hard to keep on top of this. We are working on teams to siphon the information so you don't feel like we are ignoring you.
We know it is hard to communicate with this website. We are trying to do the best possible.
Harrison sent me the contact info for a couple of website designers that might be able to throw a better one together. If you are them and reading this, do it!
3. Donations and Fundraisers:
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE DONATIONS!
Everyday we seem to double the money coming in. We are currently getting 8 donations every 10 minutes.
THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!!!
As of this moment, from this site only, we have raised....
drumroll....................
$17,500!!!!!!!
Our Goal is:
$200,000
This shows that our lovely lady, the dancer, the doer, the maker, the muse, HOLLIS, has touched the lives of SO MANY PEOPLE!
We are currently putting together a few benefits.
-There is a medium sized one at The Caretakers which originally was a record release show by Jonah Th'Mole, but he has decided to donate proceeds to the cause. I posted a flier earlier on this site. The venue isn't very large, so come early if you are plaaning to come.
-We are organizing a larger show that is slated for a month or so from now at a BIG venue that can have BIG acts.
If you want to help with this, we are soliciting acts, silent auction items, and volunteers. We have been offered Flux http://www.flux53.com/ for a large scale benefit in Oakland. We also need a big venue for a San Francisco. Xian has a great hookup for glossy fliers with 5,000 for $150 so if we can put together something, we could make some fliers that are blingin'
I am creating a fundraiser comittee, so if you want to help take some of my load, send me an email with "fundraiser comittee" in the subject. elizastrack (AT) gmail (dot) com.
Joe Lewis has offered his place for some smaller events, and so anyone who would like to put something like that together, I would love it.
I hope this answers some of your questions. I am trying to stay on top of it.
Thanks and have a great day,
Eliza

Oh yeah...
Exactly one week ago at this time we were covered in blood and I was fanning her in the first ambulance racing to JIPMER (the AC was broken, it was like a steam room). Long way baby. Feels like a lifetime ago...
In Chennai near the airport that will take her to Stanford...
The mightiest tempest roaring through me. I can only go to sleep because all of you are there tucking me in and telling me I need to. I can only wake up and part the blanket of black fog that settles on my blanket, pillow and heart because you all pull me out of bed and tell me to stay strong. I am not shouting at my self to keep going. I am shouting in a billowing chorus. I feel you all and thanks isn't even applicable you are pioneering something that garners something new beyond even thanks. Yesterday I was vomiting, today I was healing her with my hands and my voice and song. I am a person of powers and invincibility forcefields and luck and I am pulling it down on her like a lightning rod. You are amplifying it like an arena rock soundsystem. I've kept her alive this far and we're going to bring her back to you. Last night we moved her from Pondicherry to Chennai. She did great. This is all so intense and surreal, especially when the ambulance brutally murdered the cutest dog. It was crushed into the grill in front of the passenger seat where I was sitting. I had some sort of flash back and was flung into screaming and crying but we got Hollis there. She is in exponentially greater care that immediately swung into action. The money and resources are pouring in. I feel that we are close. Lets get her to Stanford, please. I know everone is doing so much and using all of their might and powers but we need to step it up. Put it on the pirate cat, in the Guardian, on TV. Call famous people and find people or foundations to match funds. You can, I can, WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love and Strength. Harrison

Isn't it grand?
The donations are rolling in from all over the world.
The people have spoken and they are determined to get this lady to the Bay.
We are now at $9,600 from the pay pal donation button.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
On the action item list:
1. getting in touch with the airplane people who have stepped forward.
2. Finding Bill Gates' real email address (ha! thanks Linda!)
3. Continue to rustle up donations.
4. Updating the website with Hollis' story and medical statements.
I am getting a bit bogged down because I fell off a loft while I was sleeping last night and broke a couple of ribs. Hang in there, I will get this information connected. I know the clock is ticking.

LOVE AND LIGHT ARE RAMPANT IN THESE PARTS.
WE'RE LOOKING TO CONQUER.
The best biproduct is a firm notion that our community is there for us shall a sheep run astray from the fold.
Our family is strong and patchwork, but geared on positive living, and therefore surrounds itself in that light. And it is easy to give it off. And it feels good to receive.
It seems like we are all committed to get this financial boat afloat.
We need investor sails.
"Does anyone know Bill Gates?" -Karen, Harrison's Mom.
We need high profile persons to take up this cause as something to Care Bear Stare.
Get people to rep a ducket.
I dare you to out-bid.
Blogging the donation button. Let's see 30 go to 100.
All from the comfort of your coffee shop after the bagel is gone.
We have received some Doctor's information to get some second opinions of the time table until it is safe to move Hollis to her princess palace where she'll recuperate riding horses and all of a sudden getting body memory of the old Hollis ruling it and wanting to take it to the new level.
She is the reason why The Derailleurs were called, for better or worse, "The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders of Bike Dance,"-Ben Sauce Applebaum, Here Comes A Big Black Cloud.
If you don't believe me, she choreographed most of our dances.
Check out our myspace.com/bayareaderailleurs

It's All Happening...
Okay this is also huge. In case you didn't know and haven't met her, I have the best mother in the world. She is an angel. She got Hollis accepted at Stanford's Hospital. One of the best in the world. As a charity case. Hollis has no insurance and this is very rare for them to do, but my moms friend Dr. Susan Bailey (i guess she's on billboards for St. Lukes right now all over SF) is the mother of my kindergarden love. They are still good friends and they made it happen. Holy Cow (of which there are many here in India). So all we need to do is get her there!!! Now!! Susan says that time is running out for medical science to help. Figure out the air ambulance let the donations pour in!!! Diane (Holly's mom) is taking out a mortgage on their house that she just finished paying off. What can we do? Maybe this is the Ghandi talking but I'm going to fast for ten days and give all of the money I was going to spend on food. Anything helps!!! Hound the ICU plane people! Ask your family friends with planes if we can rent them. Right now we are looking at $150,000 usd. as the best quote. I heard about one for 80,000 that someone got last year!!! Find it! Call, BEG, PLEAD!!!
